Congressman Faleomavaega today announced that he has received information from Discovery that Ofu Island will be featured in two specials that will be premiering during this year’s Beach Week 2004 on the Travel Channel.
“According to the Travel Channel, Ofu will be featured in the America’s Best Beaches 2004 which premiers in the United States on Sunday, March 28 at 9:00 p.m. Ofu will be featured again in the World’s Best Beaches 2004 which begins airing on Monday, March 29 at 9:00 pm. Both shows will be repeated throughout the week at different times and people should check the local listing in their area for exact times,” Congressman Faleomavaega said.
“I completely agree with the Travel Channel’s conclusion that Ofu beach is among the best in America. The serenity of the green mountains and the calm blue water of the island make it one of the most unique in the world.”
“Every time I visit Ofu, I am reminded of its potential for tourism and I believe the Travel Channel’s decision to spotlight Ofu is excellent news for the Territory of American Samoa. The Travel Channel is viewed by millions of viewers throughout the United States and many countries around the world.
