Committee on Natural Resources
The Committee on Resources is made up of five subcommittees including 1) Insular Affairs, Oceans and Wildlife; 2) Energy & Mineral Resources; 3) National Parks, Forests and Public Lands; 4) Water and Power; and 5) Office of Indian Affairs.
The Committee on Resources is responsible for all issues involving the insular possessions of the United States and the Office of Indian Affairs generally (except those affecting revenue and appropriations). The insular possessions include American Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), and the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM).
My good friend, Congressman Nick J. Rahall, II, a Democrat from West Virginia, is the Chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources while Congressman Doc Hastings from Washington, is the Ranking or most senior Republican member of the Committee.
Committee Members are listed here and are listed in order of their seniority on the Committee. To learn more about my Subcommittee assignments which include the Subcommittee on Insular Affairs, Oceans and Wildlife, and the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources, click on these links.
