Figure 1. Children in CWS eligible for IDEA Part C services

Figure One is a bar graph showing the percentage of children who would be meet eligibility criteria for Part C services at baseline, if biomedical risks and environmental risk factors were included as categories well as developmental delay. The first bar shows that 35 percent would fall into the Developmental Delay category; the second bar shows that .4 percent would fall into the Biomedical Risk category; and the third bar shows that 27 percent would fall into the Environmental Risk category. (back to Figure 1)

Figure 2. Low scores on developmental assessments at baseline and 18-month follow-up among children eligible for IDEA Part C services

Figure Two is a bar graph that compares baseline and 18-month follow-up scores on developmental assessments across three categories of children who met eligibility criteria for Part C services. The first set of bars shows that 78.1 percent at baseline and 74.4 percent of these children at follow-up had extremely low cognitive scores. The second set of bars shows that 16.6 percent at baseline and 23.3 percent at follow-up had extremely low adaptive scores. The third set of bars shows that 30.1 percent of children at baseline and 33.1 percent of children at follow-up had extremely low language scores. (back to Figure 2 )

Figure 3. What percentage of maltreated children who have developmental delay or a medical condition have an IFSP and an IEP over time?

Figure Three is a bar graph that shows the percentage of children either with or without a developmental delay or medical condition who had an IFSP or IEP at baseline, at the 18-month follow-up, and at the 36-month follow-up. The first bar shows that 10 percent of children with a developmental delay had an IFSP at baseline, while the second bar shows that 13 percent of children without a developmental delay had an IFSP at baseline. The third bar shows that 11 percent of children with a developmental delay had an IFSP and 12 percent had an IEP at the 18-month follow-up, for a total of 23 percent, while the fourth bar shows that 4 percent of children without a developmental delay had an IFSP at the 18-month follow-up. The fifth bar shows that 26 percent of children with a developmental delay had an IEP at the 36-month follow-up, while the sixth bar shows that 1 percent of children without a developmental delay had an IEP at the 36-month follow-up. (back to Figure 3 )
