Housing

Category Description:

The housing programs in the Recovery Act are designed to assist those in greatest need by addressing infrastructure in underserved areas, preventing homelessness through rapid re-housing and ensuring modern public housing facilities.

The Recovery Act also addresses neighborhood stabilization by mitigating foreclosure rates and consequence of foreclosures. Albuquerque has relatively low foreclosure rates and is not competitive nationally to secure Recovery funds for neighborhood stabilization, although the City did receive a large Neighborhood Stabilization Grant through the normal annual funding cycle.
