If your company is selected to participate in the 2017 BLS Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses, you should receive a Notice of Recordkeeping Requirements after December 20th, 2016. For those participating in the 2016 BLS Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses, you will receive Instructions for Completing the 2016 Survey after January 13th, 2017.

Dec. 28, 2016: BLS Midwest Region Office Releases Survey Publication

 

“Over 68,000 nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses were reported among Wisconsin’s private industry employers in 2015, resulting in an incidence rate of 3.6 cases per 100 equivalent full-time workers, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Assistant Commissioner for Regional Operations Charlene Peiffer noted that Wisconsin was among 21 states that had an incidence rate of total recordable cases (TRC) significantly higher than the national rate of 3.0.” (continue reading…)

 

 

 

BLS Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries

 

Dec.19, 2016: Wisconsin Worker Fatalities Increase in 2015.

 

“According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries, there were 104 Wisconsin workers who died due to injury in 2015. This number reflects an increase from 99 fatalities in 2014. Wisconsin’s overall fatality rate also increased from 3.5 to 3.6 deaths per 100,000.”(Continue reading…)
