Additional Seven Weeks of Extended Unemployment Insurance Benefits07/17/2009Since the average unemployment rate in NYS is now above 8%, an additional seven (7) weeks of Extended Benefits have been added, for a total of 20 weeks of Extended Benefits. This is in addition to 26 weeks of regular benefits and 33 weeks of Emergency Unemployment Compensation. These additional seven weeks of Extended Benefits may be claimed by certifying for weekly benefits in the usual manner, either on this web site OR by calling our Tel-Service line at 1-888-581-5812 (out-of-state residents should call 1-888-864-9920).
