FDA’s activities in the Africa and Asia regions include engaging with our foreign regulatory counterparts allows it to share technical expertise that enhances the country’s ability to produce safe foods and quality medical products. These information sharing and capacity building activities strengthen the ability of a country to provide an export that meet the FDA standard and allows FDA to fulfill its mandate of consumer protection for Americans. It also helps the foreign country to strengthen its regulatory infrastructure, safeguard the health of its citizens and contributes to global health.
