The Honorable Mrs. Deborah Platt Majoras Chairperson Federal Trade Commission (by online form submission) Copy: Senatar Barbara Boxer (by e-mail) Copy: Senator Diane Feinstein (by e-mail) RE: PLEASE STOP the proposed fee increase by FTC for the use of the National Do-Not-Call list Dear Mrs. Majoras, I am absolutely stunned by the proposed increase of the DNC fee to $17,050 from $7,000 it was just 2 years ago. This wild increase can not be justified by nothing. Inflation is by far lower and the operating expenses to maintain the data base do not change so suddenly either. Furthermore we are witnessing a trend in the opposite direction - the computer equipment, Internet bandwidth and data center costs are getting lower. Furthermore with the increase of the popularity of the DNC, the number of user increases and the cost per user should drop due strictly to economy of scale. The proposed increase will line up someone's pockets with big, fat profits on the expense of the hard working people like us. We are in the data center / hosted data base business and we are willing to take over the operations of the DNC data base withouit a penny increase in the price. Please give me a call to discuss if you are interested. The proposed increase is especialy burdensome on small business like ours, which does telemarketing out of a small call center for our very own purposes (as opposed to service to third parties). Furthermore the rules do not allow small business like ours to cooperate and share the expense. It is unjust to require the same DNC fee from a small opeartor like us and large call centers with thousands of seats. Sincerely, Ivan Vachovsky CEO Aplus.Net
