RIDGEWOOD WATER
DRINKING WATER INFORMATION
Ridgewood Water found elevated
levels of lead in drinking water in some homes/buildings
in our community. Lead can cause serious health
problems, especially for pregnant women and children 6
years and younger.
Drinking water is one
possible sourse of lead exposure. The main sources
of exposure are lead-based paint and lead-contaminated
dust or soil.
To reduce your exposure to lead in your water: (1)
Run the cold water for 15-30 seconds to flush out lead,
(2) Use only cold water for consumptive purposes, and
(3) Do not boil water to remove lead.
For more information call Ridgewood Water at
201-670-5520 or visit our website at http://water.ridgewoodnj.net
