RECOVERY ACT DOLLARS PROVIDE MUCH NEEDED AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR KANSAS SENIORS Notice of Housing Needs Hearing for the 2010 Kansas Consolidated Plan The State of Kansas will conduct a public hearing on housing needs and issues for citizens to have input into the development of the 2010 Kansas Consolidated Plan. The Consolidated Plan is the state’s policy framework for federal community development and housing programs. Resources available in 2010 are estimated include approximately $17,215,000 from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), $8,552,000 from HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), $896,000 from the Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG), and $357,000 from Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) programs. Individuals with disabilities or limited English proficiency are welcome to attend and participate in the public hearing. If you are in need of a sign language interpreter, an assistive listening device, large print, or Braille material, or other accommodation to attend this meeting, please notify KHRC at least five days prior to the meeting. KHRC is announcing registration opportunities for its 2009 Housing Tax Credit Compliance Training Seminars. Attached is the Agenda and Registration sheets. Kansas to Receive $23 Million in Recovery Act Funds to Create Jobs, Provide Affordable Housing Notice of Selection Criteria for the Tax Credit Assistance Program Kansas Housing Resources Corporation hereby publishes a draft of its Selection Criteria for funding through the Tax Credit Assistance Program (TCAP). Threshold qualification for TCAP funding is any development that can be completed by February 12, 2012 and has received a HTC allocation by September 30, 2009. Eligible developments will then be evaluated based on the Selection Criteria in the Qualified Allocation Plan. KHRC will then rank and give priority to applications based on the following criteria:

Full Story Appliance Replacement Program Commits $4 Million in Two Weeks Topeka, KS – Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) is pleased to announce that after only two weeks, $4 million in funding for the Residential Appliance Replacement Program is now committed. KHRC launched the statewide initiative to reduce energy consumption among homeowners and renters on April 7th, 2009. Today, after receiving over 1300 voucher requests totaling nearly $5 million, applications will no longer be accepted.
