ITS-ABQ Traffic Management System I-40 Trail Crossing at the Rio Grande

Category Description:

The ARRA infrastructure programs emphasize sustainable investment and focus policies on the people, businesses and communities that use transportation systems.

ARRA supports building and rehabilitating roads, highways, bridges and ports to improve safety and transportation efficiency.

Albuquerque transportation projects go through an elaborate metropolitan planning process that involves the surrounding communities in a collaborative planning effort through the Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG). The MRCOG adopts a regional plan, called the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and a related Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Only projects contained in the TIP are eligible for infrastructure stimulus funding.  See MRCOG for more information.
