School Show Information
Performances on our Schedule page labeled 'School Show' are presented specifically as a Field Trip for school age children.
This page contains information for teachers and other children's group leaders regarding their attendance at these events.
If you will be arriving by school bus please don't miss the Transportation section below.
Reservations and Tickets
Admission to daytime school shows is sometimes handled directly by the Presenter of the event, not the KiMo ticket office. Please refer to the Admission information on our Schedule page for that specific event.
Individual tickets are not generally used, but reservation vouchers are issued for the requested number of children and adults. You must include ALL members of your group who will be attending the performance when requesting your reservation; Teachers, classroom assistants, chaperones, extra parents with additional children, friends, drivers, - everyone. Because......
Most school shows will be fully Sold Out in advance and your group will be counted as you enter. If the show is sold out it will not be possible to allow members of your group into the building who are not part of your original, confirmed reservation. (Fire Dept. Occupancy Load regulations.)
If you wish to add persons to your reservation prior to the event you must re-contact the original ticket sales/reservation office for the Event. Applicable ticket fees apply.
Walk-Up or At-the-Door admission & ticket sales
Most school shows will be fully Sold Out in advance and waiting to purchase your tickets At-The-Door is NOT recommended and can only be allowed if legal seating space is available. Please purchase your tickets well ahead of time so you and your children aren't turned away.
ADA Accesibility
If anyone in your group is in need of any ADA assistance, please inform the person taking your reservation AND the KiMo staff as soon as possible so we can address your needs. (505) 768-3522
The KiMo Theatre does not have an elevator and Balcony seating may not be accessible to persons with mobility impairments. Accessible seating is located on the main floor only and limited in quantity. This could mean some members of your class will be separated from your main group.
Any arrangements for Sign Language interpreters must be made well in advance and directly with the event's Presenter so the interpreters can obtain copies of the script/dialogue.
Perfomance Starting times
To help prevent conflicts with system wide School and Bus schedules the performances will start on time and are not delayed for latecomers.
Study Guides
Study guides and other resources materials may be available from the event's Presenter. Go to the listing for the specific event on our Event Schedule page and click on the Presenter's name/link to view their website or contact information.

Transportation
School Bus Unloading & Loading
The KiMo Theatre is on the northeast corner of Fifth Street and Central Ave. Map
Traffic on Central from 1st. to 5th. Streets is usually quite congested and it is generally easiest to approach the theater from the South -
- I-25 to Lead, west to Fifth. St. then north to Central ...
or from the North -
- I-40 to Sixth. St. - south to Gold St. - east to Fifth. St. - turn north to Central....
.... and use the sidewalk area directly on the west side of the KiMo for unloading & loading. East - West traffic on Central Av. is usually quite congested and will delay your arrival.
There is usually someone in front of the building directing bus drivers to the drop-off area.
There are no parking places here for buses. They will have to leave and return just before the end of the show to pick you up. Confirm the show length with the person taking your admission reservations so you may inform the driver when to return.
For the safety of your students and due to the large amount of traffic in front of the building and the limited size of our loading area.... school/class groups will be dismissed from the auditorium in the order that their bus arrives at the side of the building. So please make note of the bus number of your bus.
Please call us if you have any questions, (505) 768-3522.
