Councilor Jones has been a resident of District 8 since moving to Albuquerque and has been active in the community since the early 1980’s. Her community activities include serving on the board of La Familia Adoption Service, a past board member of Hospice of the Rio Grande, board member and current Vice President of her Home Owners Association (HOA), member and Past Vice President of New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Guild. Councilor Jones was recently honored as a 2009 Woman of Influence by the New Mexico Business Weekly.

Councilor Jones is a licensed New Mexico Real Estate Broker and a Director at Maestas & Ward Commercial Real Estate. She is a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and has received the prestigious Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) designation. She was a leading Real Estate Advisor at Grubb & Ellis|New Mexico in 1999 and 2000 and qualified for the National Circle of Excellence for Grubb & Ellis in 2000. The Commercial Association of Realtors New Mexico (CARNM) also named Councilor Jones Realtor of the Year in 2000. Selection of Realtor of the Year is based on community involvement, volunteerism in real estate organizations, and significant impact in the real estate community. Also in 2000 the New Mexico Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties honored Councilor Jones as Real Estate Professional of the Year in recognition of her community volunteer work and achievements in commercial real estate. Councilor is a member of several other real estate organizations, including National Association of Realtors (NAR), Realtors Association of New Mexico (RANM) and, Leasing Information Network (LIN), which she helped establish. She has served as President of CARNM, LIN, and the local CCIM chapter.

Though Councilor Jones is devoted to community service, she also loves the outdoors and can most weekends be found at home gardening, packing for a camping trip, or backpacking in the wilderness areas of New Mexico.
