Exchange Programs

PAS administers a variety of educational exchange programs, including the prestigious Fulbright program. Large numbers of students come to the U.S. each year to take advantage of our advanced and specialized educational programs. PAS also administers an Education Advising Center, which provides valuable information to individuals who are thinking of studying in the U.S.: how to go about finding an appropriate university, how to apply, where to take entrance exams and how to prepare for student life in America.

Cultural Programs

The Cultural Specialist organizes exchanges of cultural and artistic work, including the Jazz Ambassadors. This section organizes a range of professional Level exchange trips to the United States. Themed exhibitions of American Culture including, Rodeo, Modern Art, and Contemporary Music are supported by the U.S. Embassy. In addition to this, the Exchanges section of Public Affairs strives to develop and maintain contacts with leaders in the educational, cultural, and artistic communities.

Information Resource Center

The Information Resource Center (IRC), which is open to the public by appointment, has a reference book collection on the United States and on teaching English as a second language. English teachers may wish to inspect the list of EFL books for sale, produced by our head office in Washington, which can be ordered at reasonable prices. There is also an excellent periodical database available for those who would like to do research in various fields. The IRC is part of a network of information centers within the U.S. federal government and the American library community and is your primary resource for information about the United States.
