• Visa Processing Fee
  For the month of February 2013, the 160 USD visa processing fee is 36,000 HUF, the 190 USD fee is 42,750 HUF.
  
  New Visa Processing Fees: Effective April 13, 2012, the Department of State will adjust visa processing fees. The fees for most non-immigrant visa applications and Border Crossing Cards will increase, while all immigrant visa processing fees will decrease. Please review the new fees.
• Immigrant Fee: Effective February 1, 2013, all individuals issued immigrant visas overseas must pay a $165.00 USCIS Immigrant Fee before traveling to the United States.  Only prospective adoptive parents whose child(ren) is/are entering the United States under either the Orphan or Hague Process, Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants who were employed by the U.S. government, returning residents, and those issued K visas are exempt from the new fee.  The USCIS website has more details on the new fee, including contact information for USCIS, if there are further questions.
• Non-Immigrant Visa Unit: New public hours from October 1, 2012
  By appointment: Monday 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 7:40 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., Friday 7:40 a.m. – 8:40 a.m.
• Immigrant Visa Unit: New public hours from October 1, 2012
  -- Walk-in Hours: Public hours for walk-in services (for information packets, for submitting additional documentation, to pick-up the visa and for general information):
  
  On Monday and Wednesday from 1 PM to 4 PM
  On Tuesday from 1 PM to 3 PM
  
  -- Services by appointment: all Immigrant and fiancé(e) visa applications are accepted only by appointment.
• The Embassy has recently learned of visa scams being perpetrated against Hungarian citizens interested in working as au pairs in the United States. Please be advised that applicants will never have to pay “processing fees” to the Embassy through Western Union.  In Hungary, visa fees are collected only at MKB bank or at the Embassy. Currently, the U.S. Department of State has authorized only thirteen organizations to bring au pairs to the United States.
