Diving Division FAQs

  • What is the Diving AIG 7702, and how long do we have to keep it?

    Ans: AIG 7702 is a message supplement to the Diving Safety Line (DSL). It is published  by the NAVAL SAFETY CENTER, CODE 37 (DIVING) and provides quick dissemination of diving safety-related information, and the location of our Diving Safety Survey teams over the next few months. Critical information from AIG 7702's will be reprinted in the following Diving Safety Line. Commands are only required to maintain a copy of AIG 7702's that are published after the most recent Diving Safety Line. Once a new Diving Safety Line comes out throw away your old AIG 7702's.
     
  • What is the most current AIG 7702, AIG 239, and Diving Safety Lines (DSL)?

    They are listed and kept up-to-date in our "References" page.
      
  • What is required to receive a command dive history (CDH), and/or a personal dive history (PDH)?

    Ans: To get a copy of your CDH, phone or e-mail us with the following information:
    Command:  Name/UIC. 
    Period requested.
    Reason for request.
    E-Mail/Mailing address.

    To receive your PDH, mail a letter of request on command letterhead to: Commander Naval Safety Center, Attn: Code 37, 375 "A" Street Norfolk, Virginia 23511-4399. Multiple personnel requests can be made on the same letter. We will need:

    Diver(s):  Name / rate / SSN.
    Period requested.
    Reason for request.
    Mailing address.

    Retired or discharged personnel requesting a (PDH) may submit requests as a notarized letter, or a letter with the following unsworn statement:

    "I declare under penalty of perjury, under the law of the United States of America, that the foregoing is true and correct."

    The declaration must then be signed and dated.
     
  • Where do you get updates to the NAVSEASYSCOM (ANU) list?

    Ans: Through the NAVSEA WEB SITE: www.navsea.navy.mil/sea00c .
     
  • What command should I call for guidance concerning system certification, diving-related PMS, and diving equipment technical support?

    Ans:
    Shore based facilities: NAVFAC

  • Who authorizes diving waivers, i.e. Diving with foreign militaries? Using non-approved equipment? Use of foreign chambers and air sources?

    Ans: NAVSEA 00C
     
  • What is the most current version of DJRS?

    Ans: The most current version of DJRS is version 2.5.2 R4. Dive JumpReporting System (DJRS) ver. 2.5.2 R4 is a Windows-based program.

    Upgrades to the older version include: easier data entry; business rules that more accurately reflect diving operations in the fleet; the ability to track bottom time for command-specified dive rigs; and detailed report logs.
