NMFS/ADF&G Announce 2009 eLandings Workshops in Sitka and Anchorage

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Region, and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) will present combined workshops in Anchorage and Sitka for the fishing industry on eLandings, an electronic reporting system designed to report fish and crab landings and production to multiple State, Federal, and international agencies, according to Robert D. Mecum, Acting Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

The workshop in Anchorage will be held for the Community Development Quota (CDQ) groups at:

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The workshop in Anchorage will include:

  • An overview of new regulations and licensing issues for the CDQ groups;
  • An overview of the eLandings electronic reporting system;
  • Demonstrations and hand-on training with creating individual fishing quota (IFQ) sablefish, CDQ halibut, and crab landing reports;
  • An explanation of interim fish ticket procedures and internet outages; and
  • Descriptions of International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC) data uses and logbooks.


The workshop in Sitka will be held for shoreside processors at:

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

  • An overview of the eLandings electronic reporting system;
