The NTSB Academy is open during the business hours observed by the federal government. Exceptions to the Academy's normal operating schedule may be made in the case of inclement weather or civil emergency. In addition, since many of the Academy instructors are active NTSB investigators and disaster response specialists, there is the possibility a class could be cancelled in the event of a major transportation disaster.

In the event that a class is cancelled because of weather, civil emergency, or a major transportation disaster, the NTSB will refund all paid tuitions.
