Laboratory Director Dan Arvizu and Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) Program Manager Mark Mehos highlighted the mission of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in articles published in Innovation: America's Journal of Technology Commercialization. This bimonthly magazine reports on new technologies, entrepreneurial activity, topics of interest to investors, issues concerning technology transfer, and activities at the U.S. Department of Energy and other national laboratories.
Arvizu and Mehos both focused on transferring knowledge and creating partnerships with industry to move advanced technologies to the marketplace in alignment with NREL's mission to address the nation's energy and environmental goals. While Arvizu wrote broadly about NREL's new facilities, growing staff, forward-thinking programs and work to expand commercial opportunities, Mehos' article "Solar's Getting Competitive" was more specialized, focusing on the development, benefits and issues surrounding CSP.
