American Citizen Registration

Registering with the U.S. Embassy helps the Embassy determine the number and location of American citizens in the event of a large-scale emergency, and can greatly assist in our ability to reach you in the event of any type of necessity. The information you submit is covered by privacy laws, and we will not release any information you submit without your authorization.

Americans traveling or residing in Peru can register at the Department of State’s secure online travel registration website. American citizens may record foreign trip and residence information that the Department of State can use to communicate with you and assist you in case of an emergency.

U.S. citizens around the world who travel or reside abroad can access this site either through a link on http://travel.state.gov or directly at http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/registration/registration_4789.html. We invite you to register yourself and your family and get acquainted with travel registration. If you registered with the Embassy prior to 2005, or your information has changed, please re-register online to update your records.

If you select Peru as your destination and enter an email address as part of your contact information, you will be added to the U.S. Embassy Lima email distribution list. We will provide you with occasional updates on topics of interest to Americans residing in Peru, including news about security conditions, voting, tax information and more.

Your personal data is protected by the Privacy Act of 1974. We take your privacy concerns seriously, and we will not distribute any personal information without your express permission.
