Numerical Models
National Weather Service NCEP Model Loops - The
loops in the tables below contain individual frames with map images
created at the National Weather Service's National Center for
Environmental Prediction (NCEP).
GFS Model
The GFS (Global Forecast System) model produces forecasts
out to 16 days, four times per day. The loop time steps are 6 hours
from analysis time to 240 hours (10 days), then change to 12-hour time
steps out to 384 hours (16 days).
Longer loops (384 hours) contain
up to 48 frames, so a fast internet connection is recommended. Links
to 120 hours (21 frames) and 240 hours (36 frames) of the model runs
have been included for faster download purposes. Also, if bandwidth is
a concern, you have the option of choosing between small (640x480 pixels)
and large images (1024x768 pixels).
