The following NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards broadcast is available online as live streaming audio. This stream is hosted by Westfordweather.net through Weather Underground, not by NWS. While we broadcast the audio used by these streams, we have no control over interruptions or discontinuation of this streaming audio service.

The Burlington Forecast Office currently broadcasts on 5 transmitters:

KIG-60 on 162.400 megahertz - MOUNT MANSFIELD, VT
WXM-44 on 162.475 megahertz - MOUNT ASCUTNEY, VT
WWG-50 on 162.425 megahertz - BURKE MOUNTAIN, VT
WNG-671 on 162.500 megahertz - GRANDPA'S KNOB, VT
KBS-508 on 162.525 megahertz - WHITE HILL, NY

By nature and design, NOAA Weather Radio coverage is generally limited to an area within 40 miles of the transmitter. The quality of what is heard is dictated by the distance from the transmitter, local terrain, and the quality and location of the receiver.

KIG-60 serves the following Counties:
NY - Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Saint Lawrence
VT - Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Washington

WXM-44 serves the following Counties:
VT- Orange, Windsor, Windham (ALY)
NH- Sullivan (GYX), Grafton (GYX)

WWG-50 serves the following Counties:
VT- Caledonia, Essex, Orleans, Orange
NH- Coos (GYX), Grafton (GYX)

WNG-671 serves the following Counties:
VT- Addison, Bennington, Rutland
NY- Essex

KBS-508 serves the following Counties:
NY- Saint Lawrence, Franklin

(ALY) denotes forecast provided by NWS-Albany office
(GYX) denotes forecast provided by NWS-Portland office

The typical broadcast on each transmitter will run between 4-9 minutes, depending on the weather situation:

When there is significant weather: Warnings, Weather Statements, and Short Term Forecasts will become top priority. Thus, the normal broadcast will be interrupted or shortened significantly. Public Information Statements will also be periodically heard.

Weekly Tests

Every Wednesday between 11 AM and Noon, Eastern time, a test is conducted which tests the tone alert system. The test will not occur when severe weather is occurring or expected, and will be postponed to the first good weather day. This test provides a way to check your radio receiver alarm.
