TIFFANY L. CARROLL APPOINTED ACTING U.S. TRUSTEE FOR
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, HAWAII, GUAM, NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS
WASHINGTON, D.C.–Tiffany L. Carroll has been appointed Acting United States
Trustee for the Southern District of California and the Districts of Hawaii, Guam, and the
Northern Mariana Islands (Region 15) for an interim period effective on March 1, 2008, it was
announced today by Clifford J. White III, Director of the Executive Office for United States
Trustees. Ms. Carroll replaces United States Trustee Steven J. Katzman, who was appointed in
May 2003 and has resigned to return to private practice.
Ms. Carroll has served as Assistant U.S. Trustee heading the U.S. Trustee Program’s San
Diego office since October 2005. She joined the Program as a Trial Attorney in the San Diego
office in 1991. Ms. Carroll received her law degree from Seattle University School of Law in
Tacoma, Wash., and her undergraduate degree from Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif. She
received the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees Director’s Award for Excellence in Legal
Advocacy in December 2000.
The U.S. Trustee Program is the component of the Justice Department that protects the
integrity of the bankruptcy system by overseeing case administration and litigating to enforce the
bankruptcy laws. The Program has 21 regions and 95 field offices. Region 15 is headquartered in
San Diego with an additional office in Honolulu.
