Code Enforcement
The Code Enforcement Department is responsible for enforcing the City’s housing standards. This includes inspecting and prosecuting blighted property in the city, processing demolitions and laying the ground work for redevelopment activities. In the last six months the department has undergone a number of enhancements. The Department has built a new website to inform residents about these enhancements and to explain the code enforcement process and give up to date information about hearings, inspection and other enforcement activities. NCDC
The Neighborhood Conservation District Committee (NCDC) of the City of New Orleans is a committee developed to review demolition applications within the district. Since demolition is an irreversible step, there is a need for careful review to ensure that demolitions are not performed unnecessarily.
