OVC Joins Grants.gov for FY 2006
To better serve the crime victim services field, OVC will use Grants.gov as its primary portal for processing discretionary grants and funding opportunities. Effective October 1, 2006, all applicants for competitive discretionary grants from OVC must apply through Grants.gov. Exceptions. Existing or continuing discretionary grantees will continue to use OJP's Grants Management System (GMS) to apply for continuation funding. Additionally, formula grants will continue to be processed through GMS. Special Note. Applicants will need to set up their organization's profile with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) to apply through Grants.gov. Please note that the registration process will take several days to complete. Applicants should plan accordingly to meet grant deadlines. Grants.gov is the single access point for more than 1,000 grant programs offered by the 26 Federal grant-making agencies.
