Note: The Air Force does not provide transportation from Albuquerque International Sunport to Kirtland AFB. Scouting units are responsible for obtaining all transportation to, from and on Kirtland AFB.

Transportation
Transportation arrangements to and from Kirtland AFB and the airport (and then to Camp Elliott Barker/Philmont/Double H/Rancho del Chaparral) is the Scout unit's responsibility.
The U.S. Air Force, Kirtland AFB units or base personnel assume no liability or responsibility for Scout units desiring to come on base. Scout units are responsible for ensuring their appropriate tour permits and insurance are completed and on hand before arriving at Kirtland AFB.
The City of Albuquerque provides bus transportation (ABQ Ride) to Kirtland AFB. On base service is limited to the following bus routes: #2, 31, 96 and 98.
If arriving from the Sunport, take bus #50 to Gibson Boulevard and transfer on to 16/18. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to the Truman Gate. Walk the short distance to the Truman Gate. When purchasing your ticket, ensure you tell the bus driver you will be transferring to bus 16/18. As a reminder: Kirtland AFB does not provide transportation services for scouts.
Middle and high school aged students may have to show school identification to get the student one-way rate. Exact change is necessary to ride the bus. Holiday service: no service is available on New Years, Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial, Independence, Labor, Thanksgiving (or the day after) or Christmas days.
