With a rich history dating back to 1897, Voorhees College has been changing minds and changing lives for more than a century. We're a historically black college with an active, progressive student body and a high ratio of instructors to students that allows personal attention. We're mindful of our traditions but also focused on giving our graduates what they need to succeed in an ever-changing global society. With the backing of the Episcopal Church, we help students grow spiritually as well as intellectually.   And we're pleased that you're interested in becoming a part of Voorhees. We're confident that you'll find the right program to put you on the path toward developing as a professional and growing as a leader. Your first step is here, with our admissions office.

Voorhees College offers majors in accounting, biology, business administration, computer science, English, mass communications, criminal justice, health and recreation, sports management, emergency management, childhood development, sociology and organizational management. Pre-professional programs that prepare students for degrees in medicine and nursing are also available.

Academics

At the Office of Academic Affairs, we are responsible for the heart of your Voorhees College experience – the majors and minors, the general education classes that will lead you to your degree.

Through our Adult Education Program, we offer older learners a chance to finish degrees in as little as a year and a half. Our Honors Program recognizes our brightest students, giving them opportunities to challenge themselves in new ways. Our Freshman Year Experience Program helps get you off to a good start, and our Academic Success Center keeps you on track.
