Sea Surface Temperature Imagery
Land regions are displayed as seen by NOAA Channel 2 for daytime passes and Channel 4 for nighttime passes. Sea Surface Temperature is computed from the multi-channel algorithm. If a link is not "live", there are three possibilities: (1) We have not yet reached that day. (2) The area was completely cloud obscured. (3) The receiving station was down. Imagery is provided in linear latitude and longitude coordinates. For more information click here. Times are GMT. Before March 19, 1996 the temperatures are displayed on a common color scale from 2°C to 32°C. From March 19, 1996 on, the temperature color table is dynamically scaled. This allows one to observe more subtle detail in the circulation patterns. Hits since 1996 June 20 19:20 GMT Last updated Wed Sep 4 16:08:18 EDT 1996. Frank_Monaldo@jhuapl.edu |
