WMAP Viewer Overview

WMAPViewer allows the user to display and pan over an image at a variety of zoom levels, using a web-based technology similar to that found on maps.google.com. It may currently be used to view a limited selection of CMB sky maps from the first WMAP data release. We hope to expand the palette of available maps in the near future.

This tool now works with Internet Explorer but IE shows scroll bars of limited utility in the image viewport. To pan under IE, click and drag to start, then release and continue to drag to continue panning across the image; click again to stop panning. This behavior is still under investigation and suggestions would be welcome!

This tool still does not work well with the Safari browser.

Please let us know what you think of this viewer, including suggestions for improvements to its interface and functionality. This is a new project still under active development. Once a few remaining technical details fore resolved, the software will be made available for download.
