Lake effect rain showers will end over northwest Indiana by early afternoon as morning cloudiness gives way to increasing sunshine across the remainder of the area today. Highs will be rather cool for August, only climbing into the upper 60's to around 70 degrees. Tonight will be unseasonably chilly with near record breaking lows in the 40's, except downtown Chicago where lows will hold in the lower to mid 50's.
