The District Court's General Order on Electronic Filing was amended on April 30, 2009 to require the e-filing of sealed/restricted documents in civil cases. This new requirement covers all sealed and restricted documents filed in civil cases, state court records, administrative records, and ex parte motions. Instructions for e-filing these sealed/restricted documents can be found by clicking on the following link: E-Filing Sealed Documents

The e-filing system has been modified so that attorneys will open civil cases directly in CM/ECF. The case opening event will assign a case number and attorneys will file initiating documents on the docket created for that new case number. The assignment of judges to new civil cases will be done by the Clerk'\''s Office staff after the case has been opened. Instructions for opening civil cases case can be found by clicking on the following link: Opening a Civil Case in CM/ECF

Attorneys will be expected to start opening civil cases beginning June 15, 2009. The current method of e-filing new cases to case number 07cv99999 will continue to be available until June 28, 2009. After that date, the 07cv99999 case will be removed from the system.
