I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to the 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power). We are Lieutenant Colonel Paul B. Olsen and Command Sergeant Major Clint Pearson Jr., the Battalion Command Team.
The 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power) is a multi-component U.S. Army Corps of Engineers asset headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The battalion generates and distributes commercial grade electrical power in support of war fighting, disaster relief, stability and support operations and provides advice and technical assistance in all aspects of electrical power and distribution services.
The battalion consists of a Headquarters and Headquarters Company, three Prime Power line companies (A, B & C) and the U.S. Army Prime Power School. The battalion is growing and will add one additional company within the next few months: D Company (Reserve Component). The Battalion Headquarters, Headquarters Company, C Company and the Prime Power School are located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, is home to A Company, which consists of a headquarters company and four prime power platoons while B Company with four prime power platoons is located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Our D Company will be headquartered with three power line platoons in Providence, Rhode Island, with a prime power platoon in Kittanning, Pennsylvania.
