Alabama transportation department opens bids on highway projects
Alabama Department of Transportation officials today are scheduled to open an estimated $159 million in bids for projects funded by the federal stimulus program. The majority of the money, 65 percent of it, will go to widen the bottleneck on eight miles of Interstate 20 in St. Clair County and to complete the Anniston Eastern Bypass.
