Family Treatment Court
The Family Treatment Court is a twelve month program
designed to educate and support drug dependent mothers charged
with neglect where a nexus exists between their neglect and
substance dependency. Participants are placed in a residential
treatment facility for six months where they receive numerous
treatment and supportive services aimed at holistically addressing
their drug dependency and strengthening their parenting skills.
Also, during this phase, participants can bring with them
into the facility up to four children, ten years old and younger,
who are involved in the neglect proceeding. Programming is
provided for children on site, and school age children attend
the local school. On transition from residential treatment,
clients participate in community based aftercare for six additional
months. Treatment in this phase is provided by the Addictions
Prevention and Recovery Administration (APRA) and the clients
are also monitored by the Family Treatment Court Judge. For
more information about the Family Treatment Court Program
