Effective January 1, 2002, status conferences in this division will be called scheduling conferences. The name of the conference has been changed to make it clear that this is the conference contemplated by Rule 26(f) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The purposes of the conference will remain the same: to discuss the status and progress of the case and to schedule the dates for completion of discovery, pretrial conferences (in jury cases) and trial.
