The Pro Se Implementation Committee was appointed in 2006 to implement the recommendations made by the Ninth Circuit Task Force on Self Represented Litigants. In late 2002, the Task Force was charged with evaluating existing and alternative approaches to managing the growing number of pro se cases in the federal courts. The Task Force published its recommendations in a report that was endorsed by the Ninth Circuit Judicial Council in 2005. The implementation committee submitted an interim report to the judicial council in February 2009.
