Currently Serving Volunteers
Peace Corps Volunteers are Coverdell World Wise Schools' most important resources. Your participation in World Wise Schools programs and projects is essential in helping the program address the third goal of the Peace Corps—to strengthen U.S. understanding of the world and its people.
Correspondence Match Program
World Wise Schools was established in 1989 to help U.S. students understand the countries and cultures in which Peace Corps Volunteers serve. Central to the program is the Correspondence Match, which links a Volunteer in the field with a U.S. classroom, facilitating an exchange of letters, photos, videotapes, and artifacts, extending the reach and impact of the Volunteer well before he or she thinks of returning home.
Peace Corps Partnership Program
The Peace Corps Partnership Program gives U.S. students and philanthropically inclined individuals the opportunity to help sponsor a project in the community of a currently serving Peace Corps Volunteer. Find out more about the Peace Corps Partnership Program as you help initiate projects in your community of service.
Volunteer Stories
It may be both interesting and helpful to you to read about other Volunteers' experience in our Volunteer stories database. Many of the stories are accompanied by lessons that can be used in the classrooms of Volunteers who are teaching.
