The USDA NRCS National Plant
Data Center compiled these Web links primarily to help small farmers and
homeowners improve crop culture and marketing or evaluate various crops for
local use. Many of these crops are grown on a large scale in some parts of the
country but nevertheless may be practical on smaller scales in other places. A
few links lead to information about large scale farming operations. Contact
your local Cooperative State Extension Agent or Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) district office for more information about
alternative crops that might be suitable in your area. If you can help us
