Australian Biological Resources Study

ABRS Flora Online

ABRS Flora Online

The Australian Biological Resources Study (ABRS) provides online delivery of taxonomic and biological information on species known to occur in Australia. It provides an array of data including checklists, descriptive information and censuses of various groups of organisms, searchable electronically.

ABRS Flora Online currently delivers information from the Flora of Australia Online, Australian Marine Algal Name Index, Checklist of the Lichens of Australia and its Island Territories and Checklist of Australian Liverworts and Hornworts. It also links to ABRS collaborative projects such as the Census of Freshwater Algae in Australia and Interactive Catalogue of Australian Fungi. This online information is available free of charge.

The Flora of Australia Online data was first published in the Flora of Australia series, produced by the Australian Biological Resources Study and co-published currently with CSIRO Publishing and previously with the Australian Government Publishing Service.

The Families of Flowering Plants of Australia is an information resource and identification tool that uses Lucid software. Currently it is available as a CD ROM only.
