This position is located in the Insurance Department of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). The incumbent in this position counsels prospective U.S. investors, analyze requests for political risk insurance, negotiates the terms and conditions of insurance contracts, and recommends approval of insurance eligible projects. Current Federal employees considered under Merit Promotion procedures must meet time-in-grade restrictions by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants must meet all eligibility/qualification requirements, Applicants must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service and/or education which substitutes for experience. Specialized experience and/or substituting education for this position is defined as follows: Qualification requirements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s “Qualification Standards Operating Manual”. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 1) US citizenship and 2) ability to obtain a "Secret" security clearance. |

Competitive examining authority has been delegated to OPIC by the US Office of Personnel Management. Once the application process is complete, a review of your application will be made to ensure you meet the qualification requirements. Your application will be evaluated and rated under Category Rating and Selection Procedures. Your application and supporting documentation will be reviewed and compared to your responses to the Quality Ranking Factors (QRFs) to determine if you meet the qualification requirements for this job.
