Diversity
The OCC takes pride in being recognized as one of the best agencies in the federal government to work. The OCC recognizes and values a smart, diverse workforce and has a number of programs to support diversity throughout the agency as means to help attract, nurture, and keep the best talent regardless of race, national origin, gender, physical abilities, or age.
In addition to official programs, employees also participate in network groups that support diversity throughout the agency.
Coalition of African-American Regulatory Employees (CARE)
CARE functions as a focused channel of communication to promote the identification and resolution of systemic barriers that hinder employees' professional development as well as strategies to enhance the well being, education, and professional development of employees.
Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Alliance (GLSA)
GLSA promotes recognition and respect for diversity to create a work place environment that values all employees, regardless of sexual orientation.
Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Advancement (HOLA)
HOLA is an employee resource group at the OCC. Since 2002, HOLA has strived to support the advancement and career development of its members by raising awareness of issues relevant to Hispanic employees and celebrating Hispanic culture and the contributions of Hispanic employees to the agency.
The Women's Network (TWN)
TWN fosters a work environment that attracts and retains women in the OCC.
The affinity groups offer OCC employees support and camaraderie while promoting agency diversity. Throughout the year the groups sponsor numerous events and activities including the agency's annual observation of months dedicated to celebrating the contributions and heritage of these diverse groups.
