Glossary

Local community – any individual, group, community, entity or other party affected or likely to be affected by an OPIC-supported project in the country where the project is located.

Authorized representative – the local community may be represented by local representatives where the representative clearly identifies the people s/he represents, and explicit evidence of the representative authority is provided to OPIC; or by a non-local representative where there is clear evidence that there is no adequate or appropriate representation in the country where the project is located.

Sponsor – the OPIC-supported investor.
