Requests for Authorization Regarding Military Construction Facilities

Davenport Armed Forces Reserve Center

Amount: $29,500,000

Location: Davenport Armory, Davenport, IA

Recipient: Army National Guard

Description: This request is for the design and construction of a new 450 member training facility with administrative, educational, assembly, library, learning center, vault, weapons simulator and physical fitness areas for four USAR and three ARNG units. Facilities are antiquated in design and function and are encroached upon by urban development. The National Guard has determined that this facility is needed for their efficient operations.

Davenport Field Maintenance Shop

Amount: $8,600,000

Location: Davenport Armory, Davenport, IA

Recipient: Army National Guard

Description: This project will provide a 325 vehicle FMS, for all required maintenance functions and maintenance training, including maintenance bays, administrative and training space, loading/unloading facilities, POL and parts storage, equipment parking, washing facilities, and emergency power generation. The National Guard has determined that this facility is needed for their efficient operations.

Security Forces Facility Addition/Alteration

Amount: $1,750,000

Location: Sioux Gateway Airport/COL Bud Day Field, Sioux City, Iowa

Recipient: Air National Guard

Description: This project would provide additional facility space for Security Forces storage and operations. The current building is too small for the Security Forces Mission. Lack of adequate facilities is resulting in inefficient operation, less effective training, and higher operating costs due to the monthly storage rental costs. The Air National Guard has determined that this facility is needed for their efficient operations.

Security Forces Facility Addition/Alteration

Amount: $4,600,000

Location: Des Moines International Airport, Des Moines, Iowa

Recipient: Air National Guard

Description: This project would add to and alter the current Security Forces facility to match the increase in manning in support of a wing of 18 PAA F-16 aircraft. Without this project, the primary mission would continue to be threatened by poor working and training conditions. The Air National Guard has determined that this facility is needed for their efficient operations.
