Chapter 9: Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act

9.1 Purpose. This chapter authorizes the Commissioner, Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) to use the authority of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (88 Stat. 2203), P.L. 93-638, January 4, 1975, (the Act) and applicable regulations adopted under the Act to accomplish any work otherwise authorized to Reclamation on Indian reservations or for the benefit of Indian reservations.
9.2 Delegation. Authority to use the authority contained in section 102 of the Act and applicable parts of regulations adopted thereunder is hereby delegated to the Commissioner, Bureau or Reclamation.
9.3 Waiver. Pursuant to section 106(a) of the Act, any Federal contracting statute or regulation which may be inconsistent with this delegation is hereby waived.
9.4 Limitation. Any contract or proposed studies awarded pursuant to the Act must be reviewed by the Office of the Solicitor.
