WAIVERS
In rare occasions, waivers to provisions may be requested in exceptional circumstances. Customers should make every attempt to follow established policy for use and operation of the DISN. In most but not all cases, requests for waivers are subject to the GIG waiver process and shall be forwarded via chain of command, through the CJCS, to ASD(NII)/DoD Chief Information Officer (CIO), stating the reason compliance is not possible. ASD(NII)/DoD CIO is authorized to approve GIG waivers
