Veterans' Affairs
Veterans' Affairs Our country owes its veterans an enormous debt of gratitude, and making sure they get the care and services they deserve is of utmost importance to me. That is why I have co-sponsored several bills in the 110th Congress that address mental health services for veterans, eliminate the offset between military retired pay and veterans’ service-connected disability compensation, provide for annual cost-of-living adjustments in the rates of disability compensation for veterans with service-connected disabilities, and expand access to health care in South Texas through the establishment of additional veterans’ health care resources or facilities. Please rest assured that I will carefully consider any other legislation regarding healthcare for veterans in the 110th Congress. Nothing less will suffice for the men and women that have sacrificed their lives here at home, and their families that they have left behind to safeguard our freedoms that are important to us as Americans.
