Patricia M. Jones is Acting Chief of the Human Systems Integration Division at NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA.
While at Ames, she has been the Deputy Division Chief of the Human Factors Research and Technology Division and also the Project Manager for the "Knowledge Engineering for Safety and Success" (KESS) project as part of the Engineering for Complex Systems (ECS) Program.
Before joining Ames, she was an associate professor of industrial engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received the B.S. degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986 and the M. S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial and systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1988 and 1991 respectively. Her research interests include cognitive engineering, cooperative work systems, distributed decision making, and the co-evolution of organizations and information technology. She has been elected a Senior Member of IEEE and is a member of ACM and HFES.
She has authored or co-authored more than 60 technical papers published in journals and as book chapters and conference proceedings.
