Multigrid Analysis of H_1, H(curl) and H(div) Systems for Locally Adapted GridsLong ChenUniversity of Maryland, Department of Mathematics Tuesday, June 5, 2007 15:00-16:00, Speaker Bio: Long Chen is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Mathematics Department at the the University of Maryland. He received a B.S. in Mathematics from Nanjing University in 1997, an M.S. in Mathematics from Peking University in 2000, and a Ph.D in Applied Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University in 2005. From Sept. 2005 to Aug. 2006 he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, San Diego. His research interests include numerical approximation of partial differential equations, theory and application of adaptive finite element methods, design and analysis of multigrid methods, and grid generation and computational geometry. His publications have appeared in Journal of Computational Mathematics, Journal of Approximation Theory, and International Journal of Numerical Analysis and Modeling. Contact: W. F.
