APPL Emerging Leaders Summit Delegate plants tree with
President Obama at Student Conservation Association Earth
Day Event
Chris Jackson, a 17-year-old junior at City College in
Baltimore, and one of the Emerging Leaders who presented
their perspectives during the opening keynote session at
APPL’s Convention in Baltimore this February pitched the
President about his ideas for environmental conservation and
green cities projects in every major city across America.

until May 15 for 2009-2010 .

NPS Northeast Region National Heritage Areas workshop , May
19-20, Journey Through Hallowed Ground National Heritage Area,
Gettysburg, PA. The workshop will examine how to achieve stronger
partnerships between the National Parks, Heritage Areas, and the
communities they serve; and will explore the topic of
sustainability. Case examples and networking opportunities will
enable participants to gain inspiration by considering some of the
many things effectively undertaken by National Heritage Areas around
