Kohl Statement on Senate Housing Stimulus Bill

WASHINGTON, DC -- Today, Senator Herb Kohl (D-WI) made the following statement after voting with his colleagues to overwhelmingly approve the Foreclosure Prevention Act. The legislation was passed in the Senate by a vote of 84-12.

"While this bill is not the final answer to the housing crisis, it is a step in the right direction.

"In addition, we must consider revising lending standards to protect future homebuyers, increasing our affordable rental housing stock and ensuring that we create sound fiscal policies that promote the economic well being of each and every American."
